QuestLab Network is a new artist development initiative funded by Arts Council England’s Ambition for Excellence programme. QuestLab Network will create a new network of dance artists, developers, technologists and commercial organisations, leading to the development and delivery of performance and engagement projects around the country.
The three-year programme will involve residencies at Studio Wayne McGregor and the development and delivery of projects that bring together dance and digital technology to address challenges around engagement. Artists will also receive mentoring from Wayne McGregor and the studio team.
We are now recruiting eight artists to participate in the first year of the programme.
We are seeking a diverse range of artists with a background in any dance form, at any stage in their career and from across England. Artists should be experienced in or have a demonstrable interest in working with digital technology and should be interested in creating work for their region, an understanding of their local context and how they might develop projects that address challenges relating to engagement.
Artists will participate in a two-week residency at Studio Wayne McGregor in Autumn 2018 with financial support for travel, accommodation and subsistence.
Artists will also have the opportunity to pitch an idea to develop into a creative output, of which four will be supported to development. The four selected artists will receive seed money and studio space to develop and deliver projects that bring together dance and technology to impact on an identified need in their region.
