This year, Studio Wayne McGregor’s unique RESET initiative has supported more than 300 professional freelance dance artists BACK INTO ACTION at a time when they needed it most.
Feedback from participants:
I’m overwhelmingly grateful for the generosity of Wayne McGregor and all the incredible dancers and teachers. It’s been an absolute lifeline to have this time in the studio with such an inspiring group of amazing people. Nothing compares to the feeling of being in the studio, being pushed to your limits - I don’t know what I would have done without it!
RESET has meant for me that after months of feeling lost I regained a sense of purpose. It has been an overwhelming experience being a part of this community, where everyone came together for the same purpose and no judgement.
Taking part in RESET 2020 has been such a blessing. During such a difficult period for so many personally, emotionally and artistically, it has been such a privilege to be surrounded by such hardworking people. Learning from so many teachers and dancers on a regular basis has been extremely helpful in finding motivation and routine.
Comprising a series of tailored training programmes together with health, wellbeing and professional development talks and workshops, we know that RESET 2020 has been uniquely valuable to the dance artists who participated. We also know that the challenges our sector faces are far from over: that’s why we are delighted to be able to continue RESET 2021 and support even more freelance professionals across the coming crucial months.
Since the January lockdown we have moved RESET 2021 online with a programme of daily classes in ballet, contemporary and fitness followed in the afternoon by health, wellbeing and professional development talks and workshops.
The programme has been carefully developed by Studio Wayne McGregor and our Company Wayne McGregor dancers to meet their needs and those of other freelance contemporary dancers. The programme is delivered by the company dancers and teachers drawn from our regular pool of diverse and world-renowned company class teachers and trainers.
RESET 2021 will continue online with daily class in ballet, contemporary or fitness for five weeks from 6 April - 7 May 2021. Classes will be delivered live on Zoom and are drop-in sessions so you can attend as your schedule allows.
The programme is targeted at professional dancers with a minimum of 3 years vocational dance training – classes are at advanced level.

RESET is made possible with support from Arts Council England, The Garrick Charitable Trust and generous in kind contributions from Here East, Harlequin Floors, The Royal Ballet and Sadler's Wells.
