RESET 2020

Over the last 3 months, Studio Wayne McGregor’s unique RESET 2020 initiative has supported more than 170 professional freelance dance artists BACK INTO ACTION at a time when they needed it most.

Feedback from Phase 1 participants:

-I’m overwhelmingly grateful for the generosity of Wayne McGregor and all the incredible dancers and teachers. It’s been an absolute lifeline to have this time in the studio with such an inspiring group of amazing people. Nothing compares to the feeling of being in the studio, being pushed to your limits - I don’t know what I would have done without it!

-RESET has meant for me that after months of feeling lost I regained a sense of purpose. It has been an overwhelming experience being a part of this community, where everyone came together for the same purpose and no judgement.

-Taking part in RESET 2020 has been such a blessing. During such a difficult period for so many personally, emotionally and artistically, it has been such a privilege to be surrounded by such hardworking people. Learning from so many teachers and dancers on a regular basis has been extremely helpful in finding motivation and routine.

Comprising a series of tailored in-person training programmes at our east London studio together with health, wellbeing and professional development talks and workshops, we know that RESET 2020 has been uniquely valuable to the dance artists who participated. We also know that the challenges our sector faces are far from over: that’s why we are delighted to be able to continue RESET 2020 from mid-October 2020 and support even more freelance professionals across the coming crucial months.

The programme has been carefully developed by Studio Wayne McGregor and our Company Wayne McGregor dancers to meet their needs and those of other freelance contemporary dancers. The programme is delivered by the company dancers and teachers drawn from our regular pool of diverse and world-renowned company class teachers and trainers.

The next phase of this FREE programme will commence mid-October 2020 and there will be several options to interact:

  • Eight week intensive training residency for experienced professional dancers
A daily programme of ballet and contemporary technique class followed by fitness.

  • Two week intensive training programme for professional dancers
A daily programme of ballet and contemporary technique class followed by fitness.

  • Access to professional development talks on various aspects of being a freelance artist including finance, marketing, fundraising, producing, health and wellbeing and nutrition
