The Dante Project (Inferno) is an epic journey through the afterlife, inspired by Dante’s 'Divine Comedy'.

This dance world premiere for The Royal Ballet features a new collaboration with celebrated visual artist Tacita Dean (design), composer Thomas Adès, Lucy Carter (lighting design) and Uzma Hameed (dramaturgy).

Inferno is the first act of Wayne’s new three-act ballet for The Royal Ballet, The Dante Project, which will premiere at the Royal Opera House in May 2020.

Inferno was commissioned as a creative partnership between Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center, The Royal Ballet, Company Wayne McGregor, and the LA Phil with generous support from the Lenore S. and Bernard A. Greenberg Fund.
