Studio Wayne McGregor’s Beyond Borders is a pioneering international programme uniting leading dance institutions to co-create an original performance experience. Designed for visionary schools and academies, it combines world-class choreography, cutting-edge technology and cultural exchange into a transformative learning journey, created under the artistic vision of Sir Wayne McGregor CBE.

Innovation At Its Core 
Beyond Borders is built on two pioneering methodologies – Mind and Movement (MAM), a unique framework developing imagination and original movement vocabulary, and AISOMA, a machine-learning choreographic tool developed with Google Arts & Culture. Together, these world-leading methodologies enable students to engage with the future of dance-making while remaining rooted in artistic excellence.  

Programme Journey  
Phase One: Create at Home – Residencies at each partner school introduce Mind and Movement and AISOMA, culminating in a year-end production.  
Phase Two: Cultural Exchange – Students travel to their partner institution for a collaborative residency and shared performance.  
Phase Three: The Final Creation – The programme culminates in a residency led by Sir Wayne McGregor, shaping material from across the exchange into a large-scale work performed at a world-class venue.
